Your opportunity
You will lead DairyNZ’s Māori agribusiness (MAB) projects and initiatives, acting as a vital link between Māori levy payers, farmers, and DairyNZ. A key focus will be strengthening relationships across the sector and connecting MAB’s with DairyNZ’s resources (particularly DairyBase) and other sector tools. Core aims include adding value and improvements in:
- Farm performance and resilience
- Governance and business decision making skills
- Development of young Māori farmers and trustees in dairying
By championing the adoption of best practice on-farm and in business, this role will contribute to improved outcomes across the dairy sector and enhance recognition of DairyNZ’s value to Māori in dairying.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Farm Business Technical Delivery
- Strategic Planning and Project Management
- Relationship and Network Management
- Facilitation and Learning
- Product and Service Development & Delivery
- Reporting
Ideally, you will be based in Northland, Waikato, or the Bay of Plenty at one of our DairyNZ offices.
About you
You will have the ability to lead and strengthen relationships with Māori levy payers, farmers and stakeholders in dairying. You will use your networks and knowledge to support MAB’s in dairying.
You will bring passion and experience in the dairy industry, an understanding of te reo and tikanga Māori, and a strong desire to motivate and guide. Ideally, you will also have experience in agribusiness sector, consulting, or advisory role, supported by a tertiary qualification in agriculture.
