About DairyNZ

At DairyNZ, we’re here for farmers. Our purpose is to deliver a positive future for New Zealand dairy farming.

Everything we do is about making the levy the best investment for farmers, working alongside them and others to create meaningful, lasting change for the sector.

The opportunity

DairyBase is at an exciting point in its evolution. With new platforms, improved data integration, and growing sector demand, we have a real opportunity to lift the value DairyBase delivers for farmers.

We’re looking for a DairyBase Development Manager to help shape and deliver that future.

This is a unique role that blends product leadership, stakeholder engagement, and sector influence. You will lead the ongoing development of DairyBase as a trusted, farmer-centred solution, working across teams and with industry partners to deliver meaningful outcomes.

You’ll play a key role in shifting DairyBase from a dataset we maintain to a strategic product that drives better farm business decisions across the sector.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and evolution of DairyBase, setting product direction and priorities
  • Build strong relationships with farmers, accountants, and rural professionals to drive participation and value
  • Partner across DairyNZ teams including Digital, Marketing, Economics, and Farm Solutions to deliver aligned outcomes
  • Own and manage the product roadmap and backlog, ensuring delivery of high-value improvements
  • Use data, insights, and customer feedback to continuously improve the product
  • Support marketing and adoption, ensuring DairyBase is understood, trusted, and used
  • Identify and progress integration and partnership opportunities across the farm business ecosystem
  • Represent DairyNZ and DairyBase at industry events and forums

What success looks like

  • Strong and growing engagement with farmers and rural professionals
  • A clear, prioritised and well-understood product roadmap
  • High-value product improvements delivered and adopted
  • Trusted relationships across the sector and internally
  • DairyBase recognised as a credible, practical and valuable tool for farm business performance

About you

You’re someone who can bring together strategy, people, and delivery.

You will likely have:

  • Experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role in a digital or data-enabled environment
  • Strong stakeholder skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across technical teams and sector partners
  • Experience working cross-functionally to deliver outcomes
  • The ability to use insights and data to inform decisions and measure impact
  • Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex ideas
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience

It would be a bonus if you also bring:

  • Knowledge of the New Zealand dairy industry
  • Experience working with accountants, consultants, or rural professionals
  • Exposure to data platforms, integrations, or farm system tools

Why join us?

This is a great opportunity to be part of something meaningful for the sector. You’ll work alongside passionate people, influence a key industry product, and help shape the future of farm business insights in New Zealand.

Apply now

If you’re excited about combining product thinking, sector engagement and real impact for farmers, we’d love to hear from you.
