The opportunity:

We are offering 3x 12-week internship programmes designed to provide hands-on experience and professional development in the dairy industry, with a focus on any of the following disciplines: data science, agriculture science, animal science, environmental science, economics, modelling, or similar. You'll be part of one of our nine strategic programmes, contributing to real-world research that helps shape the future of New Zealand's dairy industry.  

As an intern, you’ll be supported by a dedicated project supervisor and paired with a mentor who’ll support you every step of the way. Here’s some of the activities you might experience during your internship: 

• Get hands-on: Dive into fieldwork on our research farms and with real farmers; gaining practical, on-the-ground experience. 

• Build connections: Collaborate with other interns and learn from some of the brightest minds in agri-science, including our leading scientists and research teams. 

• Make an impact: Work on meaningful projects that help drive innovation and progress across New Zealand’s dairy industry. 

This internship locations will be offered either in Hamilton or Lincoln locations.  

About You:  You’re curious, motivated, and ready to roll up your sleeves to make a real impact. You’re someone who: 

• Enjoys working with others and brings a positive, can-do attitude 

• Is curious, eager to learn, take initiative, and get stuck in 

• Can follow instructions and stick to processes when it counts 

• Pays attention to the details (even the small ones!) 

• Communicates clearly and asks great questions 

• Is currently studying for or recently graduated with a degree in animal, agricultural, environmental, or data science—or something similar 

• Has a basic understanding of stats, data analysis, and writing reports 

• Feels at home outdoors and has a genuine interest in dairy cows or agriculture 

• Has the right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand
